We at the House of Champions have lost a member of our family; his name was Chris Marrone. He was 17 years old, and he died tragically in a car accident.

We love you very much, Chris, and miss you just as much.

Mike Marrone (a staple fighter for the House of Champions and, more importantly, Chris’s older brother) is coping with the loss and is preparing to fight hopefully by years end.

-------

Gus Curren’s other heavyweights, Sherman Williams and Grant Cudjoe, are both in heavy training for upcoming fights.

Female fighters, Marisol Miranda and Kathy Rivers, are gearing up for fights of their own, as well. Miranda expects to be besting her (as of yet unnamed) opponent on the 17th of this coming November in Port St. Lucie, Florida; while, on the 15th of this coming December, Kathy Rivers will be stepping into the ring for her first fight while under the tutelage of Gus Curren, the fight will occur in Berlin Germany for a stake of FIVE world titles. Both Rivers and Curren know that, to win in Germany, Rivers will have to knockout her opponent, Natasha Ragosina… which is good, as Gus Curren is a specialist with an established history of training fighters in art of the knockout.

It has been a big week for the House of Champions Hit Squad fighters…

House of Champion’s regular, Sherman Williams, only let his fight run a mere 78 seconds into the first round before destroying his opponent, Wade Lewis, in the Bahamas.

Then, in Atlantic City, New Jersey, House of Champions Cruiserweight, Mike Stafford, won his fight via a unanimous decision against opponent, Juan Albino, Friday night.

Shortly afterwards that night, on showtime’s co-mainevent, House of Champions’ staple fighter, Mike Marrone, brought home a majority decision against other unbeaten heavyweight, Malachy Farrell, in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

The same night, House of Champions female fighter, Marisol Miranda, battered her opponent and is visibly well on her way to cleaning up her record back up and putting the other females in the 115-118 division into check.

Another “House Heavyweight”, Al Gazdacko, lost via decision vote to opponent Leonard Collier; though many in the crowd voiced that they thought Gazdacko really won the fight.

“Its going to be an exciting couple of months…” touted Gus Curren in between training fighters for a number of very important upcoming fights…

Sherman Williams will be fighting on April 17th in the Bahamas on an ESPN 2 cofeature… and, only three days later, H.O.C. staple fighter, Mike Marrone, will be taking on fellow undefeated Heavyweight, Malachy Farrell, on Showtimes Sho Box come April 20th in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Also on the card will is expected to be England's own Mike Stafford, who will be returning to Florida to resume his training with Gus Curren.

Additionally, Curren will have another three of his fighters, Al Gazdacko, Marisol Miranda and Corey Johnson fighting in the next few months with three-time world champion Stevie Johnston working their respective corners in Curren’s absence.

Speaking of Stevie Johnston, he himself will be fighting on May 11th, headlining the ESPN 2 Friday Night Fights in Denver, Colorado. And, as if this weren’t enough action, Heavyweight Grant Cudjoe is also expected to be stepping into the ring with his opponent in mid-May.

Mar_10_2007

House of Champions’ staple Heavyweight, Mike Marrone, stepped into the ring February 23rd and defeated his opponent, Jermell Barnes, by unanimous decision. In a brief post-fight interview, Marrone expressed a slight dissatisfaction with his performance, but ultimately acknowledged that (putting looks and show to the side) winning is the bottom line.

Next up for Marrone will be a co-feature televised fight on a “Showtimes/Shobox” series in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he will square off against undefeated Malachy Farrell (16-0, 12 K.O.s)

At the same time, House Cruiserweight, Mike Stafford, is also expected to be on the card.

On the 20th of April, two of Gus Curren’s other fighter’s (heavyweight Al Gazdacko and, new female fighter, Marisol Miranda) will fight in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. Unfortunately, Curren will not be able to work their corners, as he will be occupied in Marrone’s corner in New Jersey.

Indeed, authorities are expecting another big year for the House of Champions’ Hit Squad as they anticipate the return Grant Cudjoe, Jameson Bostic, Stevie Johnston, Sherman ‘the tank’ Williams and Corey Johnson.Feb_2_2007

The House of Champions stable is making its mark… on the 19th of January, Gus Curren saw three of his fighters step into the ring within mere hours of each other in the state of Mississippi and, unsurprisingly, all 3 were victorious. Starting with Super Middleweight Jameson Bostic, scoring a 1st round KO, the House continued its onslaught when Heavyweight Grant Cudjoe stopped his foe in only two rounds. To finish off the night, House of Champions Heavyweight Sherman Williams won the W.B.F. Heavyweight Title by knocking out the formidable Ralph West in round three.

In the week that followed, one of Curren’s latest fighters, the former three-time World Lightweight champion Stevie Johnston, got his name back into the win column by winning the I.B.A. Lightweight Championship from Tyrone Harris in Orlando Florida.

Coming up on ESPN 2 is a televised fight in Scranton Pennsylvania, where House of Champions staple fighter, Mike Marrone, will put his unbeaten record on the line once again.

The apparently unstoppable winning-machine that is Gus Curren’s “Hit Squad” includes Heavyweights Mike Marrone, Grant Cudjoe, Sherman Williams, and Al Gazdacko, as well as Cruiserweight Mike Stafford, Super Middleweight Jameson Bostic and Lightweight legend Stevie Johnston. All of these men just seem to be getting tougher and are setting their sights on big things in 2007.

The House of Champions would also like to welcome “Irish” John Duddy and his manager, Eddie McCloughlin, as well as the rest of Team Duddy, as he prepares for his fight in Madison Square Garden on March 16th against Anthony Bonsante.

In other weight classes, cruiserweight Mike Stafford's professional debut was a great (although expected) success, earning a 2nd round T.K.O. in Atlantic City.

At the same time, House of Champions fighter Jameson Bostic knocked out the previously undefeated and highly touted Juan Carlos Lamberti "cooooollllllddddd" sparking a great uproar. According to trainer/gym manager Gus Curren, "Everyone was upset but us... [that's how] we knew we were just too much for team Lamberti."

Also, the House of Champions would like to regard fighter Lameson as a prospect destroyer currently on his way to being the top prospect in the super middleweight division.

Sept_16_2006

September 2nd, in Los Angeles, House of Champion's staple fighter, Mike Marrone, stepped into the ring with "Loud Mouth" Ralph West; who had been taunting Marrone the entire week before the fight. After the starting bell sounded, the fight only progressed part way into the second round when the referee was forced to end Marrone's "vicious" onslaught against the helpless West.... Since then, Marrone is already training for his next undisclosed fight, getting an extradordinary degree of sparring with Gus Curren's newest heavyweight, Grant Cudjoe.

Another one of the House's fighters, Sherman "The Tank" Williams, won for himself a knock-out victory against Josh Gutcher only 77 seconds into the first round. Recently returned from said victory, in Las Vegas, Williams in now back in Vero Beach training under the expert tutilage of Gus Curren in advance preparation for his upcoming fight November 18th.
